25th Anniversary Open House and Raffle!

We have served Rowan and surrounding communities since 2000! We would love for you to join us for an Open House, Raffle, Food, Games, and Family Fun!

We will have concessions available including: hotdogs, chili, and soups.

Raffle Rules —  Saving Grace Farm
Effective Date: October 28, 2025

Drawing Date: December 12, 2025 (via Facebook Live)
1. Sponsor & Purpose
These rules govern the raffle (the “Raffle”) sponsored by Saving Grace Farm, a nonprofit organization organized under the laws of North Carolina. The purpose of the Raffle is to raise funds for the charitable purposes of the Organization.
2. Eligibility
  • Entry is open to individuals meeting the following criteria:
    • Must be a Resident of the State of North Carolina
    • For general entry to purchase a ticket: any person 18 years of age or older is eligible to purchase raffle tickets and be entered into the Raffle.
    • For the Trip Prize: winner must be 21 years of age or older at the time of awarding. If under 21, they may accept the cash value instead.
    • For the Firearm Prize: winner must be 21 years of age or older, must satisfy all applicable federal and North Carolina laws regarding firearms possession/transfers, and must complete required paperwork at Lead Chunkers in Rockwell, NC. If under 21, they may accept the cash value of the firearm instead.
  • Employees, officers, directors, or board members of the Organization (and their immediate families)  are eligible to participate.
  • By purchasing a ticket, each entrant agrees to comply with these rules and the decisions of the Organization, which are final and binding in all respects.
3. Ticket Sales & Entry Mechanics
  • Tickets shall be sold beginning on 10/28/25 and ending 12/11/25 at 11:59 PM. No further entries will be accepted after ticket sales end.
  • Each ticket constitutes one “chance” in the Raffle drawing.
  • Winners of any prize will be entered back into the pool for subsequent drawings (i.e., winners are eligible to win more than once) unless otherwise disqualified under these rules.
  • Ticket price: $35 ( or 3 for $100) 
  • There is no limit on the number of tickets one person may purchase.
  • Ticket purchases may be made : In person at the Open House or through Staff/Board/Volunteers, OR online at 25th Anniversary Open House & Raffle - Saving Grace Farm .
  • The drawing will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, via live broadcast on the Organization’s Facebook page at approximately 12:00 Noon. Winner need NOT be present to win.
4. Prizes
Three prizes will be awarded. Winners may elect to receive a cash alternative in lieu of the prize as described below.
Prize 1: Trip
  • Description: A 5-night all-inclusive 5-star resort stay for two to Punta Cana, Cancun, or Dominican Republic, and a travel voucher to be used for airfare up to $500.
  • Winner must be 21 or older.
  • Travel must be booked through or coordinated with the Organization (or designated travel agent) within 12 months of award. Travel must be completed by 24 months from award date, subject to blackout dates and availability. Any unused portion of the voucher is forfeited. Airfare must be booked with our travel agent for use of voucher.  
  • Cash alternative: Winner may elect to receive a cash award of $1700 instead of the trip prize. Election must be made in writing within 72 hours of prize notification.
Prize 2: Firearm
  • Description: Beretta A300 Ultima Mossy Oak Bottomland 12-guage shotgun. 28" Semi-Auto 
  • Winner must be 21 or older and must satisfy all applicable federal and North Carolina laws regarding firearm transfers, residency of the State of NC, and lawful possession.  
  • Firearm must be picked up at Lead Chunkers, located at 229 E Main St Rockwell, NC. The winner must complete any required paperwork and transfer through Lead Chunkers. If winner fails or is unable to complete these requirements, the Organization reserves the right to award a cash alternative or select an alternate winner.
  • Cash alternative: Winner may elect to receive a cash award of $980 instead of the firearm prize. Election must be made in writing within 72 hours of prize notification.
Prize 3: $500 CASH
  • Description: Cash prize of $500
  • Winner must be 18 or older.
5. Winner Selection & Notification
  • Winners will be selected by a random drawing from among all eligible tickets sold, including entries of prior winners (as winners remain eligible) during the drawing event on December 12, 2025.
  • Each winner will be contacted in the order drawn and may choose their preferred prize from the three available options. The final winner will receive the remaining prize or its designated cash alternative.
  • Only 500 tickets are being sold for this event.
  • Winners will be announced live on Facebook followed by direct phone notification within 24 hours of the drawing.
  • Each winner will have three business days from the time of the drawing to:
    • Claim their prize
    • Elect the cash alternative if applicable
  • Each winner will have 10 business days after claiming their prize to: 
    • Complete eligibility verification—including age, identity, residency, and any applicable firearm transfer paperwork for Prize 2--
      Submit any required tax or eligibility documentation.
  • If a winner cannot be reached, declines the prize, fails to meet eligibility requirements, or does not return the required documents within the specified timeframe, the Organization will select an alternate winner by random drawing.
6. Taxes & Reporting
  • Winners are solely responsible for any and all federal, state, or local taxes or fees associated with acceptance or use of a prize.
7. Use of Proceeds & Compliance
  • Under North Carolina law (see North Carolina General Statutes § 14‑309.15), a nonprofit may hold a raffle provided that:
    • No more than five raffles are held by the organization in any calendar year. (Justia Law)
    • The maximum cash prize or fair market value of a prize (non-cash) for any one raffle may not exceed $125,000 (unless special property prize provisions apply). (FindLaw Codes)
    • The total cash prizes or total fair market value of all prizes offered by the nonprofit in a calendar year may not exceed $250,000. (North Carolina General Assembly)
    • No less than 90% of net proceeds (receipts less cost of prizes awarded) must be used for charitable, educational, civic or other nonprofit purposes; and none of the net proceeds may be used to pay any person to conduct the raffle or to rent the facility where tickets are sold or drawing is held. 
  • The Organization intends to comply with these requirements, use the funds net of prize costs for its mission, and maintain records of ticket sales, prize costs, winner information, and use of funds.
8. General Conditions & Limitations
  • By accepting a prize, each winner consents to the use by the Organization of their name, likeness, city/state of residence, and photograph for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
  • The prize is non-transferable (except that the winner may choose the cash alternative as allowed). No substitution of the prize (other than cash alternative) is permitted, except by the Organization, in its sole discretion.
  • The Organization reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Raffle (or individual entries) in the event of fraud, technical failure, or other causes beyond its control, and to select winners from among eligible entries received prior to such cancellation/modification.
  • The Organization, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents are not responsible for (and hereby disclaim) any liability for loss, damage, injury or death that may occur in connection with participation in the Raffle or acceptance, possession or use of a prize (including travel or firearm usage) except as required by law.
  • Acceptance of a prize may require the winner to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability/publicity release and any tax form required by the Organization. Failure to sign and return such documents within 3 business days may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner.
  • The Organization will verify each winner’s age, identity and eligibility. The winner of the firearm prize must coordinate pickup at Lead Chunkers in Rockwell, NC and must complete all required transfer paperwork with a licensed firearms dealer as part of prize acceptance. If the winner cannot or will not complete the transfer process, the Organization may award the cash alternative or another prize.
  • Travel restrictions for the trip prize apply (booking deadlines, blackout dates, etc.) and any costs not specified as included (such as airfare beyond the voucher, ground transportation, meals, taxes, and incidentals) are the responsibility of the winner.
  • Tickets are non-refundable.
  • These rules are governed by and construed under the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any action or dispute arising under or relating to the Raffle shall be brought exclusively in the courts of [County], North Carolina.
  • If any provision of these rules is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
